Last year, Inwood area farm roads were seen overflowing with water. This year, heavy rains have forced closures on some roads in the province.

Unseasonably heavy rainfall is to blame for many infrastructure issues, Manitoba and Infrastructure and Transportation says.

A number of Manitoba highways have been closed due to water over the roads. According to a press release from Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation, the majority of the closings are in Southern Manitoba near Dauphin and Brandon, with several roads also being classified as partly covered or cautionary conditions.

Manitoba Infrastructure has also issued a flood warning for Ethelbert and surrounding areas, with continued flood warnings for the river downstream of the Shellmouth Dam to the Millwood area.

There is also a flood watch from St-Lazare to Brandon, along with a high-water advisory for Swan River and Duck Mountain.
