Brandon Sun - ONLINE EDITION

Hot today, wet tonight

Friday is set to be another hot one, but the evening will end with drizzle and a possible thunderstorm before things cool off tomorrow.

After nosing just above 30 C yesterday, Environment Canada predicts that Brandonites will experience 32 C this afternoon, under a mix of sun and cloud for most of the day.

There's a 30 per cent of showers during the day, with a little bit of wind picking up in the afternoon, but evening showers are nearly guaranteed, beginning around dusk and ending after midnight. There's also the risk of a thunderstorm late this evening or after midnight.

That will cool things off significantly, as temperatures fall to a low of 10 C overnight.

It'll take a day or two to recover, too. Saturday is looking like a very mild 21 C will be the high — more than 10 degrees cooler than today. A mix of sun and cloud tomorrow will clear early in the evening, but the at clearing will come with high winds, at 40 km/h gusting to 60 km/h.

Sunday will be a much nicer day — sunny, with a high of 27 C.

Into next week, the sun will continue. Monday through Thursday all look like they will stay sunny, with overnight lows around 10 C but highs nearing 30 C every afternoon.

The normal high for this time of year is 24 C, the normal low is 10 C.
