Ice auger recovered in Dauphin

Police in Dauphin say they managed to quickly recover an ice auger and other stolen property over the weekend.

Officers with the Dauphin municipal RCMP say they got the initial report of a break-and-enter Saturday morning. Sometime overnight, someone had broken into an attached garage at a home on Third Street SW in that city. Stolen from inside were an ice auger and some hand tools.

Later that day, officers went to a home on Third Avenue SW, where they found the auger as well as some other property that was believed to have been stolen. They also arrested a 28-year-old Dauphin woman.

Jennifer Louella Chartrand has been charged with possession of goods obtained by crime and was held over the weekend to appear in Dauphin court today.
