Impaired Drivers Charged

Impaired driving charges were laid by police on Friday in two separate incidents.
Just after 10 p.m., the Brandon Police Service received several reports that a vehicle was driving in the wrong lane and against the flow of traffic on Rosser Avenue.
Police stopped the vehicle, and the 30-year-old Winnipeg woman driver appeared intoxicated.
The woman was taken to the police station where readings from breathalyzer showed her blood alcohol level was over twice the legal limit.
After spending the night in jail, the woman was released on Saturday, but will have to return to Brandon to face charges impaired driving.
A 27-year-old Sioux Valley woman was also charged with impaired driving in relation to an incident on May 23.
That’s when a woman drove into a tree in the 400-block of 13th Street. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
A lab analysis showed the woman had a blood alcohol concentration of nearly three times the legal limit.
