Impaired driver caught with open liquor

Police say a man they pulled over early this morning was impaired, and had open liquor in his vehicle.

Officers spotted the vehicle at about 1:30 a.m., and say it was being driven in an erratic manner. They pulled it over in the 200-block laneway of Princess Avenue East, and say the man behind the wheel showed signs of impairment.

They also found open liquor in the vehicle.

The driver was arrested and later supplied samples of his breath that showed an alcohol content almost twice the legal limit.

A 23-year-old Brandon man is to appear in court on Sept. 20, on charges of impaired driving and having open liquor in a vehicle.
