Police are hunting for a suspect after yet another case of a man spotted masturbating in his car.

They say he was seen by an 11-year-old girl who was delivering papers in the 300-block of 23rd Street around 3:50 p.m. on Thursday. The suspect was in a car, allegedly exposing himself and performing an indecent act. When the girl ran, the suspect also fled — driving away north and then east.

This morning, her mother told the Brandon Sun that her daughter finished her paper route before heading home to tearfully tell what she had seen.

The girl, who is shaken but physically okay, says that the man was middle aged, with brown and grey hair that was balding on top. She thinks he was wearing a black jacket and blue jeans, and he was driving a very dark blue, newer, small car, possibly a Pontiac Sunfire or similar vehicle. The man is described as

Police continue to investigate, and the description of the suspect is different than in a string of otherwise similar incidents dating all the way back to last year.

A full story will be in Saturday's Brandon Sun.

Within the first six months of 2012, there were at least 10 reports of men committing "indecent" acts in public, in both Brandon and Shilo.

They may have resumed this year, as there have been at least a couple of complaints in recent weeks of women being followed by a man who had his penis exposed.

That includes one incident on March 31 in which a man followed a woman as she walked to work, touched himself, then exposed himself and laughed.

A 25-year-old Shilo soldier was arrested earlier this week after a woman reported that she was followed, then chased, through the Brandon cemetery, and thrown down on the snow, by a man who exposed his genitals and made "sexual advances" on her.
