"How to Grow a Mask" by Josh Sitter. (SUBMITTED)

A Brandon author's first novel is now available in two local stores.

Josh Sitter's "How to Grow a Mask" tells the story of Haardt Zongo, who sets off from Brandon on a journey to hitchhike through the Americas. Instead of a bucolic trip, however, Zongo hooks up with Internet-based revolutionaries and ends up branded a terrorist.

Sitter, who also calls himself an activist an "spokesman for social justice" says he spent four years on the novel.

It's currently available at the Abby Rose store, downtown, and at B.O.B. Headquarters on 18th Street, a well as online.
