Niels "Arne" Nielsen was found dead at his home at around 5 p.m. on Sunday, but police aren’t saying how they learned of the death. Officers spent most of Monday collecting evidence at the scene.

The RCMP say that, despite his age, Nielsen was frequently outside in his yard at 13 Talbot Street East in MacGregor, and they're asking anyone who may have seen or spoken to him in the days leading up to his death to give them a call.

Although an autopsy has been performed, police haven't released any information about the cause of death. They haven't made any arrests and are looking for tips from the public.

Anyone with information about Nielsen's death is asked to call the Portage RCMP at 204-857-4445 or to contact Crime Stoppers.
