McMunn & Yates Building Supplies LTD, along with its flooring store Jenkins Flooring located in Brandon, has contributed $100,000 to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation's A Sense of Home Campaign.

"We are so thrilled to announce the generous support of McMunn and Yates Building Supplies," campaign co-chair Kerry Auriat said in a release Thursday. "We thank the management, staff and customers of McMunn and Yates, across Manitoba and southeastern Saskatchewan, for their contribution to Murray House and their commitment to a healthy future for all cancer patients and their families."

Says McMunn & Yates President, Jason Yates: "McMunn & Yates have always believed in supporting community projects that will enhance the lives and attend to the needs of all Manitobans. This why we feel it is important to bolster initiatives such as A Sense of Home. One of the ways we want to contribute is to help build a comfortable home away from home for those who seek cancer treatment in Brandon.  We are more than just a building supply company, we want to help build a healthy community."

McMunn & Yates began in 1971 with the opening of their first store in Dauphin, MB.  Shortly after, their store was hit with a devastating fire which could have been a crushing blow to their fledgling company. However, with the help and support of volunteers within their community, they were able to rebuild immediately.

From then on, their company has grown to 16 retail locations in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, a distribution centre in Headingley, MB and a truss manufacturing plant in Dauphin, MB. McMunn & Yates provides a full range of lumber and building material sales to retail customers, commercial contractors and home builders.
