Murder accused makes court appearance

The man charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Earl Daniel Beebe made a brief court appearance on Monday morning.

David Andrew Paul, 23, appeared in Brandon provincial court and was given a next court date of April 28. Paul, who remains in custody, was ordered to have no communication with four people described by the Crown attorney as witnesses.

Beebe's body was found in his Victoria Avenue apartment on Dec. 28 by firefighters who responded to a small fire in the suite. Beebe had multiple stab wounds and police believe the fire was set to cover up the killing.

Paul was arrested on Wednesday.

The allegations haven't been proven in court.
