Police investigate the scene of an overnight crash on Stickney Avenue. Two people were taken to hospital — one with life-threatening injuries.

The 20-year-old driver of a truck that crashed on Stickney Avenue early this morning is being transferred to Winnipeg hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to the crash scene, in the 1500-block of Stickeny, at about 3:45 a.m., where they found a pickup truck had lost control, striking a concrete embankment and then a hydro pole. Officers believe it was travelling east on the road, at a high rate of speed, when the crash happened.

The driver was ejected from the vehicle on impact. He was first taken to Brandon hospital by ambulance, and is now being taken to Winnipeg.

An 18-year-old woman, a passenger in the truck, was also taken to Brandon hospital. She was treated and released.

Police continue to investigate.
