Police in Dauphin have a mother and daughter in custody after they're alleged to have participated in a frightening early-morning robbery there.
The robbery was reported Thursday afternoon, but apparently happened at about 2:30 a.m. that morning.
The victim, a 23-year-old man, had stopped his car on Fifth Avenue SW in Dauphin, and was sitting in it, when someone walked up to him and said that they needed money — then started punching him through the open car window until the victim turned over some cash.
While this was going on, a second person entered the car and began searching through the victim's wallet. A third person also then approached the car and also started punching the victim.
The three suspects then ran off.
Police say they were able to quickly identify the suspects, and had two of them arrested by 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
A 39-year-old woman and her 18-year-old daughter, both Dauphin residents, are scheduled to make their first court appearance on April 8 in Dauphin court.
There's no word on the third suspect; police say that their investigation continues.
