Brandon Police Service officers investigate a single vehicle accident which sent the car crashing into a front of a home on the 800-block of Frederick Avenue on Thursday evening. No one was injuried in the collision that destroyed the front steps of the home. Charges are pending the outcoming of the investigation.

The driver of a car that smashed through a road sign and into a house will face charges of careless driving.

Police say they received reports of the crash just before 7 p.m. on Thursday. A 2004 Honda Civic was apparently being driven westward around the curve in the 300-block of Park Avenue East when the driver lost control.

The vehicle, which had been travelling at a high rate of speed, struck a road sign before smashing into the steps of a nearby home.

There were no injuries, and although the steps were destroyed, there was no structural damage to the home.

A 31-year-old Brandon man was charged with careless driving.
