Man charged with parental abduction
A father faces charges after allegedly forcing his girlfriend out of her car and driving off with their seven-month-old son yesterday afternoon.
Police were called just past 1 p.m. on Wednesday, after the woman was allegedly forced out of the car near the junction of Victoria Avenue East and Highway 110.
The suspect drove off in the woman's car, leaving her there, and taking their child with him.
After an arrest warrant was requested for the suspect, he turned himself in, with the child, at the Brandon police station.
A 23-year-old Brandon man is to appear in court this morning, on charges of abduction and taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
