A local man faces charges after trying to make his way out of a store with sporting goods and tools that he hadn't paid for, police say.
Officers were called on Wednesday at about 5 p.m. to a business in the 1600-block of 18th Street by staff who said they had a man in custody for shopliting.
The 34-year-old Brandon man has been charged with theft under $5,000 and will appear in Brandon Provincial Court on July 10.
