A man was found dead in this Brandon home early Monday morning, the victim of an apparent stabbing.

Yellow tape cordoned off a ground-floor suite at Fourth Street and Louise Avenue this morning, where a man was apparently stabbed to death overnight.

Police said only that they found the victim unresponsive, with an injury to his upper body, when they arrived shortly after midnight. He was taken to hospital, and pronounced dead around 1 a.m.

Officers had been called to the home by a resident who wanted an unwanted male removed. It's believed that the unwanted visitor was the stabbing victim.

Earlier this morning, police told the Brandon Sun that foul play was suspected in the death. In a later release, however, they said only that it was believed to be suspicious, that they were continuing to investigate, and that no further information would be released.

Neighbours said the house, a large, older home that has been carved up into multiple suites, had a reputation for parties.
