Man faces charges after accused of choking a woman in a car

A Brandon man faces several charges including assault after he choked a woman while she was seated in a car.

At about 5 p.m. on Saturday, Brandon police were called to a report of an assault. When police arrived at the scene the man, who was on court order not to communicate with the victim, had already abandoned the area. After police set up a fan-out, notifying other detachments in the area, the suspect was arrest by the RCMP on the TransCanada Highway near Oak Lake.

The 23-year old accused was returned to Brandon and lodged overnight.
