A man who was trying to turn onto the Trans-Canada Highway ended up in hospital early Monday morning, after his pickup was struck by another.

The injured man was driving a 2007 GMC pickup at about 6:40 a.m. that morning, when he pulled onto the Trans-Canada from the 1000-block of Middleton Avenue. He was trying to make a left-hand turn to head east on the highway, but was instead struck by a westbound 2007 Toyota pickup truck.

The driver of the GMC was taken to Brandon hospital with upper body injuries, police say, although they were not believed to be life threatening.
