Police officers who spotted a man out for a walk on Sunday morning knew that he had a warrant out for his arrest.
They say the 57-year-old Oak River man was walking in the downtown area when he was recognized by police.
He was arrested for a previous offence of assault causing bodily harm and of uttering threats, and was held overnight in jail for a court appearance on Monday.
