A man who stabbed himself multiple times was found by city police early this morning.

Police were called to a disturbance in the area of the 13th Street and College Avenue around 1 a.m. after they got word that the an intoxicated man was "harming himself with a knife," police said.

The man reportedly fled the area before cops showed up but was later found several blocks away with multiple puncture wounds to his abdominal area and had one laceration to his arm.

The 27-year-old man was taken into custody, treated and released from hospital.

Since the man had gone against his parole conditions by drinking, he was sent to the Brandon Correctional Centre for the night. A parole revocation warrant was subsequently issued by Correctional Services Canada.

No charges will be laid, police said.
