A Brandon man was delivered to jail last night after he stole and crashed a pizza delivery car.

According to city police, the 37 year old took off with the delivery vehicle last night around 10:30 p.m. from the 2300 block of Brandon Avenue while the owner of the car was delivering a late-night meal to a home.

About two minutes later, the stolen delivery car was involved in a collision with another vehicle at the intersection of 26th Street and Princess Avenue.

Both drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries and later discharged.

The suspect was arrested at the crash scene and held in custody on a theft-over-$5,000 charge.

Police say they continue to investigate.
