On the morning after a snowstorm, police say a man seeing carrying golf clubs and other items aroused suspicion — and for good reason. The items had been stolen from a garage, officers allege.

The garage break-in was reported to police at about 8:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. The garage, in the 300-block of McDiarmid Drive, had been broken into overnight. Golf clubs and various tools had been taken from inside.

It was just a short time later that a caller reported a suspicious male carrying golf clubs and other items near Almond Crescent.

Officers weren't able to immediately locate him in the area, but investigators later managed to identify him, and he was arrested.

A 33-year-old man of no fixed address will appear in court this morning on charges of possession of property obtained by crime and two counts of breach of recognizance.
