Man’s body pulled from Rock Lake

The body of a 21-year-old man who drowned at Rock Lake late last week has been recovered.

RCMP said Tuesday that the man's body was found in the water, close to where police believe he fell in.

The Winkler man was one of three who were fishing from a boat in the lake, near Killarney, when he fell overbaord and didn't come back up.

Although the other two jumped in to try to help, they were unsuccessful. None of the trio were wearing life jackets.

Killarney RCMP responded to the report at 7 p.m. Friday and investigated with the help of the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team.

Police say an autopsy has been scheduled in Winnipeg. The name of the missing man will not be released.
