Map: Wet weekend rainfall totals

From Friday through early Monday morning, possibly 200 mm of rain was recorded in some places in western Manitoba and eastern Saskatchewan.

A little more rain is expected today, perhaps 5–15 mm in some locations. But that's almost a rounding error after the weekend's drenching.

Environment Canada says that the highest rainfall was reported close to the Manitoba/Saskatchewan border, with unofficial amounts of 200 mm around the Moosomin area (nearly eight inches) and 175 mm near Redvers (nearly seven inches).

The highest officially recorded amount was in Deloraine, which had 144 mm between Friday and Monday. That's more than five and a half inches.

Brandon, Virden, Reston, Moosehorn, Pierson, Broadview and Yorkton all received more than 100 mm.

Winds were an issue after the rain as well. Brandon was whalloped with the highest recorded wind, a gust of 96 km/h on Sunday.

Elsewhere in the province, Winnipeg, Gimli, Oak Point and Deerwood all recorded winds topping 80 km/h. Pilot Mound had a 74 km/h gust.
