Mechanical issues delay pool opening

Most — but not all — of Brandon's pools and spray parks will be open either this week or next.

However, the city says that unspecified mechanical issues will force the Kinsmen Pool in Rideau Park to stay closed until it is fixed.

The city's other pool, the Kiwanis YMCA Keystone Pool at 13th Street and Southern Avenue, opened Monday as scheduled.

Some spray parks have also been turned on, for private school bookings. They'll open to the public from noon until 6 p.m. on July 1 for Canada Day, and will open regular hours, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., starting Wednesday, July 2.

Rideau-area swimmers left hgh and dry by the pool closure will be able to catch some refreshment at the city's newest spray park, in Rideau Park, which will have a special grand opening on Thursday, June 26.

Full details on the locations and hours of the city's pools, paddle pools and spray parks is available online at brandon.ca/recreation/parks/spray-park-a-paddle-pools.
