Brandon Sun - ONLINE EDITION

Mild stretch ahead, weatherwise

After repeated blasts of cold Arctic air, Westman is set for a few days of near-normal temperatures.

Today's high of -9 C should feel downright balmy after last week's chill.

Environment Canada is also predicting about 5 cm of snow today, with flakes starting to fall this morning.

Cloudy skies will persist all day, with maybe another 2 cm of snow overnight, as temperatures drop to -16 C.

Tomorrow should be mainly cloudy, with a high of -12 C. Snow could return for Wednesday. There's a 60 per cent chance of flurries, that day, with a predicted high of -13 C and a low of -16 C.

Skies will clear later in the week, with highs around -9 C on Thursday, then -6 C on Friday. Sunny skies and continued mild temperatures are expected for the weekend, too.

The normal high for this time of year is -9 C. The normal low is -20 C.
