An airplane crash at the Russell Airport sent three people to hospital Sunday.
According to an RCMP release sent on Tuesday afternoon, the Cessna Model 182P was overturned about 500 metres south of the airport’s runway.
There’s was no smoke or fire when emergency crews arrived on scene at around 9:30 a.m. The three occupants, including two female passengers, ages 56 and 83, and the 61-year-old male pilot were sent to local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
All three are from the Miniota area.
Initial investigation points to difficulties with the take-off and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada will continue the investigation, but there is nothing criminal in nature related to the incident.
