The call to replace Mavis Taillieu as MLA for Morris could come soon.

Could the call for a byelection in Morris be close? Perhaps even on Friday?

A hint Premier Greg Selinger could call the vote soon is word today from the NDP that area farmer and business owner Dean Harder won the nomination to represent the party earlier this week.

The Progressive Conservative candidate is Shannon Martin, who was acclaimed in May.

Jeremy Barber is the Liberal candidate.

The seat has been vacant for about 10 months due to the resignation of Tory MLA Mavis Taillieu.

Selinger also at some point has to call a byelection for Arthur-Virden, which was vacated by PC MLA Larry Maguire for his successful run at becoming the new Conservative MP for Brandon-Souris.
