People living south of Victoria Avenue will be able to rub it in a little while longer — rub the Off in, that is.
With rain in the forecast for tonight, the city of Brandon has cancelled their fogging plans for Thursday night, and rescheduled them for Friday.
Areas of Brandon north of Victoria Avenue were fogged with malathion overnight Wednesday, and there were plans to finish the city, south of Victoria, tonight.
Those plans, however, have been postoned until Friday night.
Pending weather — fogging can only be done when temperatures and winds are right — the city plans to send out malathion trucks Friday night at 10 p.m.. They'll run until about 6 a.m. Saturday morning.
The fogging was trigged by sky-high counts last weekend of mosquitoes throughout the city.
Brandon residents who prefer not to be fogged can register for a buffer zone; however they have to apply by no later than 7 p.m. the night of the fogging. That can be done at brandon.ca/mosquito. The 90-metre buffer zones have to be re-registered every year.
