Motorists warned of highway work in Riding Mountain
Crews are already working on Highway 10 in Riding Mountain National Park, but a second stretch of that road will also be worked on this month this month, adding to possible delays through the park.
A three-kilometre section of the road near the Grayling Lake divide will undergo asphalt repairs and chip sealing starting Monday, July 16. If the weather cooperates, construction is expected to finish up by the end of the month.
Meanwhile, however, motorists are asked to watch for posted warnings and temporary speed limits, as well as flag workers and pilot vehicles. There is also the possibility of loose flying stones, and vehicles should slow down to minimize risk.
Traffic may be reduced to one lane during the work, and delays should be expected.
As well, construction continues further north in the park, along Highway 10 nearer the north park boundary. Construction there is expected to last until October.
