Manitoba Mounties have confirmed that they consider the death of a man at the Rolling River First Nation suspicious.
RCMP first responded to a report of a deceased man around 11 a.m. on Saturday.
They've now confirmed that they consider the death suspicious and Elphinstone RCMP and the Major Crimes Unit members out of Winnipeg are investigating. However, an RCMP spokesperson said the matter is not considered a homicide at this point.
Otherwise, the force hasn't released further details, including a possible cause of death, and band officials and family members of the deceased 24-year-old man couldn't immediately be reached Tuesday morning for further comment.
There is a report that a man was arrested in the course of the investigation, and remains in custody on accusations of breach of court orders. He is not charged in connection with the death.
RCMP wouldn't confirm that report, however.
