Mounties looking for Hyundai with Jets plates

Police are on the lookout for the getaway car after two people tried to storm their way into a Brandon-area home.

The car is believed to be a newer-model Hyundai two-door coupe, possibly a Genesis, and is dark coloured. It is bearing Winnipeg Jets plates. Police say two suspects took off in the car after fleeing the scene of a break-in earlier this morning.

The incident happened between 8–8:30 a.m., at a home a couple miles south of Brandon in the RM of Cornwallis.

Two males, dressed in dark-coloured hoodies and ball caps, tried to force their way into the home, but were startled by the homeowner. The suspects were described as being Caucasian and in their late teens or early 20s.

The car was last seen travelling west towards Highway 10.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Brandon RCMP at 204-726-7522 or to contact Crimestoppers.
