Mounties to investigate allegation of 'starlight tour' by Brandon police
Brandon Police Service
The RCMP have been called in to investigate the Brandon Police Service following allegations that Brandon officers drove a man out of the city over the weekend, and forced him to walk back in freezing temperatures.
The allegations, which have been circulating on social media — including being posted on the Brandon Sun's Facebook page — say that the victim, an apparently Aboriginal man, was picked up by city police on Saturday, then driven out to the Brandon airport, where he was left to walk back by himself. There are also allegations that the officers referenced the "Idle No More" movement with an obscenity.

Although it's not clear if the alleged victim has made an official complaint, the Brandon Police Service say they are taking the tale seriously and asked the provincial Justice Department to assign an independant agency to investigate them.
The RCMP have been chosen to conduct the investigation.
The Brandon Sun will have more on this story in Tuesday's paper.

Finally they're going to be doing something about this. ''Want to go to starlight city?" has been a term the Brandon police have been using on the native people for years and years. I've heard from some people even as long as 15 years ago experienced where Brandon police officers had beat them and dropped them off on the outskirts of the city. I encourage all those who have experienced this to come forward. Winnipeg police aren't innocent on this either. It's happening everywhere.

Why don't they get an aboriginal police force to investigate?
