Brandon Sun - ONLINE EDITION

Nice day today will be warmest in seven months

What a wonderful day to play hooky.

Environment Canada is calling for clear and sunny skies all day today, with a high of 17ºC this afternoon — the warmest day in Brandon since Oct. 10 last year.

Clear skies tonight are expected to send the temperature down to 4ºC overnight, but tomorrow will be largegly nice as well. It'll hit a high of 17ºC again, despite increasing cloudiness in the afternoon and a 40 per cent chance of evening showers.

Sunday will see rain and a high of 11ºC, so get the lawn seeded on Saturday.

Into next week, the forecast calls for cooler, wet weather. Both Monday and Tuesday should see periods of rain with a high of 8ºC.

Sun is predicted to return on Wednesday and Thursday, along with a high both days of 11ºC.

The normal high of this time of year is 18ºC, the normal low is 4ºC.

The warmest it's ever been on this date was in 2007, when it touched 29.7ºC. The coldest ever was in 1981, when it dropped to -10.1ºC.
