Nothing stolen in two break-ins

Two Brandon homes appear to have been broken into, but it doesn't look as if much was stolen.

Police were called to a home in the 300-block of 13th Street just past 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning. An alarm had gone off at the home at about 12:30 a.m. that same morning, while the homeowner was away. At that time, a contact person had checked the home and found a broken window, but didn't think anyone had made it inside.

Later that morning, however, they checked inside and found an open drawer. It's not known if anything was stolen and officers continue to investigate.

Another break-in was reported Tuesday evening, just past 6 p.m., to an apartment in the 300-block of Dennis Street. The resident says he found the door kicked in when he came home from work. However, nothing inside appeared to have been damaged or stolen.

Police continue to investigate that incident as well.
