Dozen handguns stolen from business

Just two days after a Brandon home and car were riddled with bullets in what police called a "targeted" shooting, a dozen stolen handguns are poised to flood the city's underground.

Two locked display caes at Jo-Brook Firearms, in the 900-block of 26th Street, were forced open early this morning and the guns stolen from inside.

Police say they are currently working on a list of the stolen guns, including which models, and will release it to the public when it is ready.

Officers responded to an alarm at Jo-Brook at about 4:20 a.m., when they discovered the break-in. Thieves apparently go in through a back door.

Police say further details will be released when they become available. The incident remains under investigation.
