Pair charged with dealing coke

A Brandon man and woman face charges of dealing cocaine after being caught with the drug inside a Westaway Bay home. Police say they also seized a can of bear spray from inside the home.

Officers armed with a search warrant raided the home Thursday evening. Along with the bear spray, they say they seized 24 grams of cocaine, scales, packaging paterial and $540 in cash.

A 26-year-old Brandon man and a 31-year-old Brandon woman were arrested and have each been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon. The woman also faces charges of possession of the proceeds of crime.

Both suspects have since been released were later released on appropriate conditions to appear in court on July 10.
