Two people who each blew well over the legal limit were arrested in back-to-back incidents late Tuesday night, police say.

The first happened just before 11 p.m. when someone called police to report that a woman was behind the wheel of a vehicle that drove into his own vehicle and also hit his fence, in the 200-block 12th Street.

Police were able to find the suspect, a 31-year-old Brandon woman. She later gave breath samples that showed her blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit. She was held in custody overnight and was to be released Wednseday morning, with a court date of July 14.

Just 15 minutes after the first impaired driver was reported, police spotted a vehicle driving somewhat erratically on Kirkcaldy Drive near McVicar Crescent, and pulled it over.

The 52-year-old man who was driving the vehicle showed signs of impairment and later gave breath samples that showed his blood alcohol level was more than triple the legal limit.

He was later released from custody to a responsible adult and is to appear in Brandon court on July 14.
