A 33-year-old man from Regina died before sunrise Thursday when the pedestrian was struck by a car travelling in the same lane near Russell.
He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later died of his injuries, said RCMP, who responded to the collision at 5:20 a.m.
The investigation determined a 47-year-old woman was driving westbound on Highway 45, approximately 1.5 kilometres east of Russell, when she hit a man walking in the same lane.
The driver of the vehicle is not facing criminal charges.
RCMP is not releasing the name of the victim.
