Permit projects for year total over $55.5 M

To the end of June, permits for projects totalling just over $55.5 million had been issued, the Brandon Planning and Building Department has reported.

While the overall value of permits is down approximately $7 million from the same time last year, new projects in June like the Dome Building restoration on the Keystone Centre grounds and a foundation pour at a business on 18th St. North and have helped  push the numbers closer to last year’s pace, a city spokesperson said Friday.

Also helping increase the year-to-date value of permits in June was a heating system replacement at Neelin High School, replacement of windows at the Brandon Courthouse and the addition of 31 new dwellings units.
