Police are still looking for a man who tried to rob the west end 7-Eleven around dawn on Sunday morning.

Images released today were extracted from surveillance video, and police are asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to give them a call.

The man first appeared like a normal customer. He entered the store, at the corner of 34th Street and Victoria Avenue, around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday morning and used the washroom before making a small purchase.

That's when he pulled out a baseball bat and demanded cash.

The employee activated the store's alarm and after a brief interaction, the robber fled empty-handed. He was last seen running north on 34th Street.

He's described as a white male, in his 30s, with no facial har. He was wearing a light grey hoody.

Investigators can be contacted at 204-729-2345, or tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 204-727-8477.
