Brandon police officers secure the area around a house at the corner of Sixth Street and Louise Avenue on July 22, 2013.

A woman is facing assault charges in connection with a possible stabbing in July of last year.

City police allege the 36 year old stabbed a 40-year-old man at a home on the 500 block of Louise Avenue.

Officers were called to a home at about 7:30 p.m. that evening, where they found the man with a "puncture type injury" to his upper body. The injury apparently happened somewhere else, and the victim walked to the home where he was found. Police say he was taken to Brandon hospital for treatment, where he was listed in stable condition.

The woman has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon as a result of a nearly one-year investigation.
