Police issue warning

Lost: one taser cartridge.

The Brandon Police Service ask for the public’s help finding a taser cartridge that was lost from an officer’s belt on June 1.

The cartridge is believed to be lost in the area of Riverview School and is described as black in colour with a lime green end and rectangular in shape. The world "TASER" is clearly labeled on two sides of the cartridge.

The cartridge contains probes on wires which extend when the device is discharged from a taser and police warn that the cartridge could pose a risk if it was picked up by an unsuspecting person and carried in a pocket.

The device is discharged by an electrical current and static energy could built up, causing the probes to fire.

Anyone who finds the cartridge is asked to treat it with caution and contact the police immediately at 729-2345.
