Police kept busy at Countryfest

Police continue to have a busy weekend at Countryfest in Dauphin.

Officers responded to approximately five calls to attend Countryfest on Saturday.

Police dealt with four calls regarding disturbances on the grounds, one call for a theft, and at least five people were arrested and lodged for being intoxicated.

Another 24 people were charged for speeding, 19 charges for other traffic offences, six charged for having open liquor in their vehicle and two people had their driving privileges taken away after being issued 24-hour suspensions.

RCMP officers will be conducting check stops in the Dauphin area throughout the weekend.

It is okay to report on these few charges, however I am wondering why The Brandon Sun has not reported on any of the great entertainers that have preformed for the other 12,000 plus people attending Countryfest.
