A man who has been known to hang out in Brandon and Ethelbert is wanted by police on a Canada-wide warrant, after he was arrested with $500,000 in cash but then disappeared.

Peter Gerard Coffey, 44, was arrested in July 30, and was released on a promise to appear. However, since then, all attempts to located him have failed.

Coffey is described as a Caucasian male, five-foot-eleven, 185 pounds, with short brown salt and pepper hair. He is wanted for laundering the proceeds of crime and for possessing the proceeds of crime.

As well as Brandon and Ethelbert, police say that Coffey is known to frequent Winnipeg and the lower Mainland of B.C.

Anyone with information regarding Coffey's whereabouts is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service at (204) 986-6048 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
