Here's a sneak peek of the view visitors will get when they enter the new station.

Members of the public will get a chance to see the inside of the new Brandon Police Service Station — without getting arrested.

Tours will take place starting tomorrow in a week-long lead-up to an invite-only grand opening ceremony later this month, and the tours may be your only chance to see some of the new station's innards.

Due to the building's eventual use, once it's fully occupied later this month, some areas will be off-limits to the public.

The new station is located in a completely renovated former Safeway building at 1010 Victoria Ave., and tours will be offered during the following dates and times:

  • Wednesday, July 11th; from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 12th; from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 17th; from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, July 18th; from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, July 19th; from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The tours will be hosted by members of the Brandon Police Service. Visitors are asked to report in at the front lobby prior to touring the building.

A grand opening ceremony for invited guests has been scheduled for July 20 and the BPS will officially move into the facility on July 23.

The new station is expected to serve Brandon up to a population of about 65,000 people.
