Dozens of people were up early this morning for a free pancake breakfast hosted by Assiniboine Community College as they watched the Canadian women's Olympic hockey team defeat the U.S. by a score of 3–2 in their final round-robin match.

That sends Canada to the playoff rounds with a perfect 3–0 record.

A big screen was set up in the cafeteria of ACC's Victoria Avenue campus to watch the game, starting at 6:30 a.m.

ACC also used the morning to officially announce that their women's hockey team will be hosting the Senior A and B provincial playoffs in Brandon this year. The playoffs will be held at the Optimist and Kinsmen arenas from March 14–16.
