RCMP charge 50-year-old man with second-degree murder

Yellowhead RCMP have arrested and charged a Keeseekoowenin First Nation man with second-degree murder following a disturbance at the reserve, which is located just north of Elphinstone.

Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 4, officers were dispatched to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on the reserve.

When officers arrived they found 34-year-old Terrel Stewart Shorting, of Keeseekoowenin First Nation, dead.

After investigating — with the help of the RCMP D Division Serious Crime Unit, Brandon and Dauphin RCMP Major Crime Unit and the Winnipeg Forensic Identification — RCMP charged 50-year-old Terris Ronald Mintuck of second-degree murder.

Mintuck will be in Brandon court on Jan. 7, the same day an autopsy is schedule in Winnipeg on the body.
