Or that garden hose could well be frozen in a solid coil to the lawn until March.

Here's the shortyterm word from Environment Canada:

• Today: Increasing cloudiness early this morning. Wind becoming south 30 km/h early this morning. High 13 C. UV index 3 or moderate.

• Tonight: Clear. Becoming partly cloudy before morning. Wind south 20 km/h becoming light late this evening. Low minus 4 C.

• Saturday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 14 C.

• Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. Low minus 4 C. High 17 C.

• Monday: A mix of sun and cloud with 30 per cent chance of showers. Low plus 2C . High 18 C .

And then it starts to cool off.
