The RCMP are reporting poor driving conditions in the Virden area and west, due to ice-covered and slippery highways. There have been two minor collisions in the area so far this morning.
The poor driving conditions also means that response times to emergencies could be delayed, police warn.
While the duration and severity of poor driving conditions may change suddenly, the RCMP recommends that drivers use extra caution, reduce speeds and increase distance between other vehicles.
This is the first appearance of winter driving conditions this winter in this part of the province. Environment Canada is calling for up to an inch of snow today.
